Moscow, October 14, 2020 — Gazprombank, the Electronic Trading Platform of Gazprombank (ETP-GPB) and Russian Ecological Operator, a public non-profit organization for shaping a comprehensive system of solid municipal waste treatment (REO PNPO) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at the development of solid municipal waste treatment in the Russian Federation.
The document was signed by Roman Panov, First Vice President of Gazprombank, Ilya Gudkov, CEO of REO PNPO, and Mikhail Konstantinov, CEO of ETP-GPB.
In addition, Gazprombank and Federal State Budgetary Institution “Ekologiya All-Russian Research and Development Center” (FSBI VNII Ekologiya) concluded a cooperation agreement aimed at the development of programs within the Ecology National Project along with working on ecological expert assessments and ecological responsibility in the Russian Federation.
The respective document was signed by Roman Panov, First Vice President of Gazprombank, and Ivan Starikov, Director of FSBI VNII Ekologiya.
The agreements were signed during the 3rd Annual Industrial Ecology Conference organized by the Vedomosti business publication. Gazprombank served as a strategic partner of the event.
The parties agreed on extensive interaction within the framework of environmental projects, including the implementation of programs within the Ecology National Project and investment project on introduction of the best-available technologies at facilities that have a significant negative impact on the environment.
“The demand for financial instruments related to sustainable development principles is very high. Nowadays, the world’s largest companies are already driving this process. The documents that were signed today will not only let the Bank intensify its activities through investments in financially-attractive environmental projects but will also provide an opportunity for conducting the professional external expert assessment of potential projects,” commented Roman Panov.
“We have high regard for the potential of our cooperation. Gazprombank has gathered a team of professionals in the field of project structuring and PPP, which lends added impetus to the launch of new projects — particularly considering the federal waste treatment system already in place. One of the primary objectives that we and our colleagues from Gazprombank have set is to make an investment window of projects that will let investors familiarize themselves with promising projects in the most convenient way possible,” said Ilya Gudkov, CEO of REO PNPO.
“The establishment of a comprehensive SMW treatment system is one of the priority objectives for the Ecology National Project. Within the framework of interaction with REO PNPO, Gazprombank Electronic Trading Platform is willing to share its expertise, competencies and digital tools to increase the efficiency of investment project implementation. The signing of the agreement marks an important step towards the establishment of constructive dialogue between interested parties. We are geared up for productive work that will make it possible to solve such an important problem for the country as the establishment of an SMW treatment system,” said Mikhail Konstantinov, CEO of ETP-GPB.
