St. Petersburg, June 3, 2021 — Gazprombank and the All-Russian Society of Nature Conservation (VOOP) signed a cooperation agreement for the purposes of increasing the level of environmental culture, fostering a conscientious attitude towards nature, water and forest resources and improving the overall state of the environment. The document was signed by Alexey Matveev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprombank’s Management Board, and Vyacheslav Fetisov, Chairman of VOOP’s Central Council.
The agreement envisions the implementation of several joint projects in social and ecological areas, among other things — for the purposes of developing the instruments needed to align our efforts with those of our clients who share the principles of sustainable development. One of the first projects of this kind will be the opportunity for Gazprombank clients to transfer their cashback to the environmental organization’s account.
“Assistance in achieving the goals of sustainable development is one of Gazprombank’s priority objectives — both in terms of building the respective in-house business processes and interacting with our clients. The Bank is implementing a whole series of projects in the field of financing alternative-energy and waste-treatment projects, as well as projects aimed at transitioning to technologies geared towards reducing carbon footprint and negative climactic impact. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to start cooperating with one of the oldest environmental organizations in the world and view it as a chance for us to increase our positive contribution to environmental conservation,” commented Alexey Matveev, Deputy Chairman of Gazprombank’s Management Board.
“We’re pleased to be interacting with Gazprombank — one of Russia’s most reliable and socially-responsible financial organizations. By harnessing our combined efforts, we’ll be able to focus the public’s attention on the pressing challenges of environmental protection and implement economic and social projects aimed at shaping the Russian people’s responsible attitude towards our country’s unique nature and biodiversity,” said Vyacheslav Fetisov, Chairman of VOOP’s Central Council.
VOOP’s primary goal and objective is to promote a healthy and favorable environmental situation in the country, to take measures for the nation’s environmentally-friendly and sustainable development, and to protect the country’s environment and preserve the diversity of its flora and fauna, as well as to preserve and strengthen the health of the country’s citizens.
